Many security suppliers have tried to install engine immobilisers into bobcats, mini excavators, etc and have failed. Why? Because mobile plant equipment is entirely different from the normal motor vehicles that traditional immobilisers are designed for.
Constant exposure to water, dust, mud, pressure washing, vibration, impact and shock are normal in the work environment of earthmoving vehicles and normal immobilisers simply can't handle these tough conditions.
The BRANT MPT3 does the job the others can't handle! Its unique design is weatherproof, dustproof, shatterproof and also has internal shock absorbers and shock buffered steel mounting bolts. Operation is simplicity itself - 40 seconds after ignition is turned off the MPT3 automatically activates and disables three points in the engine.
To re-start the vehicle, the operator uses one of the uniquely coded proximity tags provided and a two-stage disarm process that takes only a second. Without the proximity tag and disarm process the vehicle can't be started, can't be driven off site, can't be driven up a ramp onto a truck - it's staying right where it is!
If they cut the immobiliser wires it simply disables the vehicle totally. The wires are black, unmarked, equal diameter so even the most 'educated' thief can't trace the wiring.
So, what happens if the vehicle operator loses or damages his (or her) proximity tag on site? No problem - each system has a unique, individual override code known only to the operator which enables them to start the vehicle in an emergency.
